The Design Centre of the Czech Republic honoured the Czech producer Tescoma, s.r.o. Zlín with the International Design Prestige Award for the distinctive and consistent use of design as a strategic tool for the dynamic growth of the Company, which has engaged and prioritised the creativity of young Czech designers in its corporate strategy with the aim of gaining access to international markets. The award is further given for the continuous cultivation of the entire product range's design, which is a distinctive feature of the producer's identity.

In addition, in the "Excellent Product of the Year 2004" competition, the Design Centre of the Czech Republic awarded its Certificate to Tescoma's DUOPENER for PET bottles and metal bottle caps designed by Pavel Skřivánek, of the Tescoma Design Studio.

The awards were ceremonially handed over to TESCOMA representatives on April 8, 2004 in the Bethlehem Chapel by the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic, Mr Milan Urban, and the Director of the Design Centre of the Czech Republic, Mr Karel Kobosil, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic.
